Summary

The film starts in 1994. In the drama ‘Reply 1994‘, which was popular a few years ago, 1994 was described as a retro era that brought the joy and pleasure of a basketball party. Society and economy seemed to be growing rapidly, the university district was overflowing with romance, and in the music industry, Seo Taiji and Boys were leading popular culture.

However, at that time, there were also incidents that still left scars for some. A typical example is the collapse of Seongsu Bridge. The bridge connecting Gangnam and Gangbuk collapsed like a lie, and some parents and daughters lost their lives overnight.

Although this incident was recorded as an unforgettable disaster in the modern history of Korea, it must have left different memories and scars for those who passed through that era. ‘Hummingbird’ depicts the collapse of Seongsu Bridge as a powerful external factor that causes a rift in a certain world or a severance of relationships in the protagonists.

Notes

  1. ‘Hummingbird’ reborn as ‘Barrier Free Version’ with narration by Lim Yoon-A.
