Summary
House of the Disappeared tells the story of Mi-hee (Kim Yun-jin), who was arrested for murdering her husband and son, and returns to the house where the incident occurred after serving 25 years in prison.
To the newest Boo (Ok Taecyeon, who eventually has a twist), who is strangely interested in this case, Mi-hee repeats only the words, ‘They killed her husband and took her child’. The night the latest Boo warns her to leave her house, Mi-hee, who is left alone, realizes that there is someone else inside her house, just like on that day 25 years ago.
The movie can be divided into the first half, which creates horror, and the second half, which contains a family drama, and the horror in the first half exceeds expectations. The horror that penetrates into the daily life of the ‘unknown being’ cools the conversation moment by moment, and the sound effects and images that surprise the audience were used in the right place.
