Synopsis
Hwang Jin-Yi tells the story of Hwang Jin-Yi (Song Hye-kyo), who grew up as a daughter of a noble family in the 16th century, when women were the land and the people were animals. When the secret of her birth is revealed, Hwang Jin-Yi chooses the status of the lowest ‘gisaeng’ by herself. Jin-yi, who has fallen to the lowest level as a human being, but has become the best woman admired by even the high school teachers, is by her side with No-mi (Yoo Ji-tae), a friend and slave, the first man.
In the turbulence of the times, No-mi is wanted as a traitor, and Jin-yi fights against the times, risking everything she has to protect him.
This is a movie with a total production period of 4 years and filming period of 194 days.
