Innocence tells the story of a lawyer named Jung In trying to prove her mother’s innocence and uncover the secrets of a small village with the help of the local mayor. Her mother, Hwa Ja was accused of murder after the rice wine was poisoned at her husband’s funeral, but she is suffering from memory loss and cannot defend herself.

Synopsis
An elderly woman (Bae Jong-ok) with Alzheimer / dementia becomes a suspect in a poison murder case.
Her daughter, Jung-In (Shin Hye Sun), an ace attorney at a law firm takes up the defense to uncover the truth behind the incident’s hidden secrets and prove the innocence of her unjustly accused mother.
The daughter who had left home at a young age, and returns to defend her mother, isn’t recognized by her own mother.
