‘The Discloser’ is a true crime drama that exposes the secret transactions of insiders sealed in the name of the country. In 1997, the Ministry of National Defense Procurement Headquarters Foreign Ministry employee exposed corruption in the supply of fighter parts, the Air Force revealed the leak of next-generation fighter jets in 2002, and in 2009, a naval officer aired on MBC’s ‘PD Notebook’ with top-class actors such as Kim Sang-kyung, Kim Ok-vin, Choi Moo-seong, Choi Gwi-hwa, and Kim Byeong-cheol.
For the first time in a Korean film, it is not only about ‘defense corruption’ that could not be easily talked about because it involves the highest levels of society such as the military, the media, and the political and business world, but also delivers a shocking surprise to the audience in that such corruption is still ongoing. The film conveys the deep message of the late director Hong Ki-seon about making a courageous choice in the face of ‘force without justice’ by expressing the usual beliefs that he wanted to convey to the world through the film.
